Douglas Chin was born and raised in New York City. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the State University of NY at Buffalo State, he spent the next 5 years at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX as a cancer research assistant supporting new techniques with the intentions of aiding Gulf War Syndrome veterans.
In 2007, he received his professional diploma from a graduate-level acupuncture program at The Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine, New Jersey’s first school of acupuncture and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
Upon being board certified by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, he started his own company, Acupuncture and Therapeutic Practices, LLC, and currently has practices in Somerset and Hillsborough. He recently completed his Master’s in Acupuncture and will be looking to achieve his Herbal degree starting in January 2018. His interest in the health and well-being of all his clients has resulted in an optimal patient experience through uncompromised care.
Doug lives in Somerset with his wife, Gillian and 3 children. He volunteers at the Mid-Jersey Chinese School and he is on their board of directors. He is also the vice president of the Chinese American Cultural Association. With his free time, he golfs, plays basketball and enjoys skiing with his family.
